Over the last year, cloud computing has gained a great deal of momentum, and it is projected to continue to grow. In 2014, approximately one-third of IT professionals reported already using cloud-based applications regularly, and 43.3% were in the process of incorporating the cloud into their applications.
While some companies hope to maintain a hybrid approach to avoid choosing one cloud solution over another, many are embracing the embracing the cloud and making plans to cross over. A more recent study has shown that almost half of the organizations questioned had at least cleared the first stage and were headed in the direction of full cloud implementation. As this number increases, the likelihood of all organizations switching over to the cloud also increases. In order to achieve this, cloud computing will need to evolve in order to keep up with the mainstreaming process.
